User Experience Design is the process of making digital products that provide an enriching experience to the users. The design team focuses on the principles of user-friendly designs by analyzing the user engagement of products and smoothening the user experience. UX becomes a must for any digital organization that aims to garner a substantial user base.

Every 75 rupees  invested in UX designs gives returns of 9,900%, which is equivalent to 7500 Rupees. Therefore, this concept has taken precedence among design experts, and over the years, multidisciplinary research has led these design experts to build products that are easy to use.

User-centred UX Design

Although visual design plays a very significant role, UX design is more focused on creating a blueprint for a better product experience, outlining its ecosystem and the values for the users. It becomes imperative because 88% of people are less likely to return to a product after a bad UX. That is why  experts started to use the tool  of user-centred design.

It is an iterative process where the team begins with understanding the users and their context as a starting point for all the new designs and development. Then it moves to specify user requirements followed by design solutions, which are evaluated based on user requirements. This process works in a loop until the designers find the best solution. It also includes a multidisciplinary approach ranging from surveys, focus groups, heatmaps, personas, user scenarios, customer journey maps, to prototyping, and user testing.

The difference between UX and UI

Often User-experience and User-interface designs are interchangeably used. There is a fine line between UX and UI, where the former can be considered a structure and the latter the finishing. While ‘user-interface’ designs are a significant part of UX, they are subsets of it. UX design covers a wide area ranging from the process of acquiring and integrating a product to covering aspects of design, branding, usability, and function.

The Why, What, and How of UX Design

A UX designer must consider the three pertinent questions-why, what, and how- of the product to make it as per the needs of the user. Beginning with the ‘why’, it considers the reasons for the user to buy that product; whether the user wants to perform a specific task with it or wants to buy it for the values attached to the product.

The ‘what’ considers the product's functionality and, finally, the ‘how’ focuses on the design of the functionality aesthetically. The designers should start with ‘why’ followed by ‘what’ and then ‘how’ to develop products that give users an enriching and meaningful experience.

The Importance of UX Design

As its name suggests, user experience is everything in the industry, and UX design tries to provide accurate solutions in the right way, thus giving meaningful experience to people while using a digital system. A skilled UX designer puts himself in the user's shoes and builds a product that caters to them. The design should ultimately give long-term returns to the organization at an unprecedented level.

UX designing is one of the most innovative fields to work in. People from any background can learn and use their imagination to create and innovate products that cater to the users at an exceptional level.
